Since qualifying in 2011, I have built on my knowledge & experience within the industry to give clients the best quality of training. I have a BSc in sport science, an MSc in Nutrition, an accredited Nutritionist with AfN, REPs level 4 specialising in lower back pain, pre & post-natal and experience with young and amateur athletes after attending three internships in America and Canada.

In March 2014, I had a rather serious accident, and my body had to be completely reconditioned. I was introduced to Katie, who began to work on what could possibly be a life-long project. As time has gone by, my needs have changed. For example, for the past year or so, Katie has focused on my balance, which is still not good.

Katie has been my personal trainer for over 4 years. I love my gym sessions! I have a pretty physically demanding job, which carries long working gruelling hours and what can be a particularly unhealthy lifestyle.

Katie has literally turned my life upside down and given me the best hobby ever – making me better, fitter and stronger than I ever thought I could be.

I have several old injuries which I thought would prevent me from certain exercises but Katie proved me wrong time and time again.  There is a sense of pure ease when training with Katie, this has only stoked my competitive fire in my belly. Who knew I’d ever be able to lift over 100kg?? Katie knew!

If it’s loosing weight, getting fitter or getting stronger. No goal is too big for Katie. Embrace the challenge and just walk through the door to the gym. Katie will be there, waiting. Waiting to embrace and achieve, above and beyond.

I was recommended to Katie Girdler over 2 years ago by a friend of mine who had talked over dinner about her amazing PT. Not having ever been to a gym I hadn’t a clue what she meant by PT and had to ask.

I’d been on a radical diet and lost a lot of weight but the scheme I’d signed to gave no advice regarding how to keep the weight off without feeling utterly starving all the time ……so I asked my friend for Katie’s number and went for a consultation.

Katie never made me feel stupid for not knowing what to do at the gym. She was patient and worked out a plan to build my strength, flexibility and cardio ability. We started slow and her clear instruction and demonstration of the ‘right’ technique meant I quickly improved, loved our sessions and began to want to test how strong I could get.

At 42 I now regularly ‘lift heavy’. I’ve participated in powerlifting competitions, winning my age group in one and bringing home a medal to show my two little girls.

Katie has been there to support and coach me every step of the way and has become a trusted friend who I admire for her enthusiasm and lack of judgement. I’m strong, and I now have a range of movement and mobility that not everyone at my age can say they’ve achieved.

Katie designs bespoke sessions for me varying the programme depending on my aims and motivating me along the way – I’m still learning and improving. Ultimately she has allowed me to set an example to my children that fitness is attainable and my goal is to run after, and with them for the longest time possible.

Oh, and instead of ‘bingo wings’ I now have ‘guns’!

I’ve been seeing Katie for nearly a year now. I was 46 years old when I first started my training and was concerned about my weight, fitness and a couple of old injuries.

After a consultation with her we established what I wanted to achieve. She thoroughly went through my previous injuries and any concerns I had. I felt completely comfortable talking to her and she made me feel very relaxed and even excited about our first session!

From my first session Katie made me feel alive. She made me feel like I had a new lease of life. She structured my sessions perfectly. To begin with enough to make me want to push a little harder but not too much to want to give up.

She is extremely good at getting the best out of you when you don’t really know you’re doing it!And then you get to be the one that is astonished that you just achieved something you never thought you could! (But she always knows),

Katie has a way of making you want to push for more. She makes you feel like you can achieve it. She talks through her session with you. She explains everything perfectly. I’m somebody who really likes to understand what I’m doing so she will explain the exercise in detail and demonstrate it.

I cannot recommend Katie enough. Anyone that wants to either get fit, lose weight, get stronger or all of the above, she will help you achieve your goals.
